This shark (Christened Fergal!) was made
from sheet steel. Fergal himself was then sandblasted to make him look
a bit different. You can see from the pictures that all 3 fish are three
dimensional. The smaller ones from 2 sides welded together and Fergal
from 2 sides and a top. The smaller fish were tickled with a grinder to
give them an interesting texture. The reeds were attacked with the welder
to give them the holes and rough surface finish. A piece of steel rod
holds the reeds and also holds Fergal up.
| A small sign in the bottom of
the sea was made specifically for the customer with punched writing on
it. It is approximately 500mm high and 250mm wide, except Fergal sticks
out the ends. The whole thing has been lacquered to stop it from rusting.
The variations on this theme are endless
and the price would be worked out dictated by what was required and how
long it would take to make.
