This desk has been made from the front of
the car. Initially this required some restoration and has then been
mounted onto a steel framework to make it useable as a desk. Tube
legs are used with rounded plastic feet to prevent floor damage. The
original bonnet has been removed and a solid hardwood replacement
made. The edges of this have been shaped to resemble the original
bonnet and it has been shaped at the front to match the genuine
bonnet and fit correctly over the headlights and grill. Antique dove
tail jointed drawers have been fitted into the back and hardwood
pieces fitted between these and the car wings to fill the gap and
make the whole thing look aesthetically pleasing. The car bodywork
has been painted black and the wood all lacquered. The chrome work
has been polished and the light lenses cleaned before re fitting.
The number plate is not the original! This sort of thing could be
made from other cars but obviously some are more suitable than
